Unguka Bank

Unguka Bank

Unguka Bank is a dynamic microfinance bank that was founded by a group of local university students in 2005. Unguka serves more than 30,000 clients and employs about 200 people. In 2011, it turned from a microfinance institution into a microfinance bank, thanks to which it could start offering a wider range of deposit taking products. Unguka currently operates through 14 outlets (8 branches and 6 satellite offices), covering an important part of the northwest region and the capital Kigali.

The bank’s key strengths include a well-recognized brand name together with a strong focus on customer care, a strong Management Information System (MIS), a committed and experienced management team and committed employees, who have been working for many years now for Unguka Bank,  a number of them also being shareholders in the bank.
