The NGO Pride Tanzania (Promotion of Rural Initiative and Development Enterprise) was founded in 1993. Pride is widely regarded as the pioneer of modern microcredit in Tanzania. Pride has a nationwide network, with at least one branch in each region of mainland Tanzania and one branch in both Zanzibar and the Pemba islands. It serves its clients with five different products: two group loans, an individual loan product, a fixed asset loan product and a salary loan product.
