Akiba Commercial Bank (ACB) received its commercial bank operating license in 1997. Since then, ACB has grown into a full service commercial bank targeting the micro, small and medium enterprise markets in Dar es Salaam and other key urban centres such as Arusha and Moshi. The bank is owned by approximately 270 shareholders, the vast majority being Tanzanian individuals, and the remainder being Tanzanian and international institutional investors. ACB has two distinct business segments to effectively service the differentiated needs of its customers: SME & Institutional Banking and Retail & Microfinance Banking.
